Le château de Vauvenargues appartient à Catherine Hutin, fille de Jacqueline Picasso, la dernière épouse du peintre. L'histoire du château et de ses différents propriétaires reste intimement attachée à l'histoire de la Provence. La présence forte et unique d'un des plus grands génies de l'art occidental, Pablo Picasso, scelle définitivement l'histoire d'un lieu d'exception.

Certainement un des plus beaux châteaux de Provence et de la région aixoise, sur son piton rocheux, au pied de la Sainte-Victoire, avec ses remparts conservés et ses belles proportions du XVII^e siècle, dans un style rustique sévère, il bénéficie d'un environnement naturel et végétal heureusement préservé.

The Castle of Vauvenargues, which has never been opened to the public, is the property of Catherine Hutin, daughter of Jacqueline Picasso, last wife of the painter. The history of the castle and its various owners remains deeply linked with the history of Provence. The strong and unique presence of this great genius of western art, Pablo Picasso, certainly seals the history of an exceptional place. No doubt it’s one of the most beautiful castles in Provence and the Aix region. Situated on a rocky peak, at the foot of Mont Sainte-Victoire, with its well preserved battlements, this well-proportioned 17th century building, with its austere rustic style, is surrounded by a well preserved natural environment.
